take a rest break!
Welcome back! After a strong start to the month, and this blog that is focusing on Mental Health Awareness Month, I did something that I recommend to many of my clients and that I am now recommending to all of you. I took a rest break.
I stepped back from everything and focused on only the things that were necessary. In addition to my responsibilities as a psychotherapist and small business owner, I am also a wife, mother, and a full-time doctoral student. To say life gets hectic would be a major understatement. So, for the past week I have taken advantage of any free time I could scrounge up to intentionally relax.
I took time to snuggle up under my favorite blanket and watch my favorite shows and a few movies. I thoroughly enjoyed moments out in the sunshine, feeling the breeze on my face, and taking in my surroundings. I even enjoyed the rainy days. Basically, I allowed myself to pause and really focus on being grateful for everything life is bringing my way, the good, bad, and (kind of) ugly.
Today, I encourage you to take time to do the same thing. Rest and recover from all that this week has brought your way.
Let's take this journey together
